FRIDAY, JULY 15
8:00 p.m. Faculty arrive at the St. Louis airport by this time (or at Columbia, MO by 8:30 p.m.). Transportation leaves St. Louis airport at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Cabs from Columbia airport
8:30-10:30 p.m. Faculty meeting and orientation
SATURDAY, JULY 16
8-9:00 Breakfast
9:15 Faculty meeting and orientation, group photo
11:00 Planning meetings for large group sessions (can continue at lunch)
12:00-1:00 Lunch
1:15 Small groups meet. Review student files.
1:15 and 2:20 Transportation departs from St. Louis airport with students (cab from Columbia airport)
2:00 Students flying in arrive no later than this time into St. Louis (or 3:00 Columbia)
2:00-4:15 Student registration & dorm check in (all faculty present to greet 2:30 on)
4:45-6:00 Opening blessing, welcome, and introductions. Go over schedules, small group assignments
6:15-7:15 Dinner with small group members
7:30-8:30 Session 1: Icebreakers (and student photo)
8:30-9:30 Small Groups. Students will be divided by specific disciplines/programs or "undecided" All students complete the following this week: 1. Curriculum vitae (draft). 2. Drafts of a sample application and personal statement and/or statement of purpose 3. Researched list of 10 programs to apply to.
9:30-11:00 Computer lab open
SUNDAY, JULY 17
7:00-8:00 Breakfast
8:15-10:00 Small groups
10:15-11:30 Session 2A: The application process: portfolios, internships, interviews, personal qualities and special talents in admissions - how to get into your first choice!

Session 2B: The basics: How do I decide on a discipline or program? Master's and Ph.D.? What do I need to do now to prepare (research, mentoring, internships, etc.)

11:30-12:30 Lunch
12:45-1:30 University presentations
1:30-3:00 Session 3: Small groups: Case studies (real applications with you as the admission committee)
3:00 Transportation departs to St. Louis airport for half-time faculty for 6 p.m. on departures
4:30 Earliest departure for half-time faculty from Columbia airport
3:00-5:00 Free time - Computer lab and athletic complex open
3:00-4:15 Optional campus tour
3:15-3:45 Faculty meeting
5:00-5:45 University presentations
5:30-6:30 Dinner
7:00-8:30 Session 4: Test Prep I: Overview of GRE, GMAT, LSAT, MCAT
8:30-11:00 Computer lab open
MONDAY, JULY 18

8:15-9:45 Small Groups (Undecided, Law and Business) & Session 5A: Test Prep II (GRE & MCAT)
10:00-11:30 Small Groups (Medicine & Health Sciences, etc.) & Session 5B: Test Prep II (GRE, GMAT, & LSAT)
11:30-12:30 Lunch
12:45-1:30 University presentations
1:45-3:00 Session 6: How to pay for it: financial aid, scholarships, fellowships, TA, etc. (Concurrent sessions will be run for "undecided" and "discipline-specific")
3:00-5:00 Free time. Computer lab and athletic complex open
3:00-4:30 Faculty meeting (debrief)
5:00-5:45 University presentations
6:00 Cookout & College Fair
8:00 Traditional Night - Native faculty and students
9:30-11:00 Computer lab open
TUESDAY, JULY 19
7:00-8:00 Breakfast
8:15-9:30 Small groups: final projects due. Pass out evaluations.
9:45-11:15 Session 7: Native students & grad school: special grad school issues, beyond grad school: going back to the Rez, leadership and service.
11:15-12:15 Dorm check out & box lunches
12:15-2:00 Session 8: Surviving (and thriving in) grad school: research issues, mentors, etc. Collect evaluations. Certificates of completion. Closing blessing (all participants present).
2:15 Transportation leaves for St. Louis airport (cabs to Columbia)

Departing flights must leave no earlier than 5:00 p.m. from St. Louis airport (or 3:30 p.m. from Columbia)
